Scott Ritter on Iran: The Canary is singing again….

As may of you may recall Scott Ritter is the former US intelligence agent and UN Weapons Inspector that warned the world before the Iraq invasion that there were no WMD’s. For this, he was publicly skewered, humiliated, and written off as a kook. Years later, it turns out he was right about Iraq’s lack of WMD’s all along.

Now he’s speaking out again but this time about Iran and the US’s plans there. The interviews below are eye opening and well worth your time.

Here’s a tease in regards to what is inside… (1) Did you know the Supreme Leader of Iran asked for normalized relations with both Israel and the US? (2) President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is pretty much a figurehead who’s views don’t align with the Supreme Leader (3) The Supreme Leader of Iran has condemned nuclear weapons even issuing a Fatwa to that effect.

Only a few days ago, the drums started pounding across the country as editorials were released in both the LA Times and NY Times by think tanks, such as the AEI (American Enterprise Institute), explaining why we must bomb Iran and bomb it now. Pundits, radio hosts, television specials, and news reports have started to focus in on Iran with a greater sense of urgency.

It also seems that at every turn Ahmadinejad is more than willing to play the part of a psychotic anti-semite bent on Israel’s destruction. While most Mid East scholars understand that his behavior has more to do with distracting his constituency with a tried and true method of shouting at Israel and the US as the source of all of Iran’s internal problems than any real desire or plan to destroy Israel, his behavior only feeds a media frenzy, and amps up fear here in the states. That said, at this point, Ahmadinejad and his vast stupidity in making such statements is fast becoming one of Iran’s worst enemies.

I’ll admit I was one of the people that wrote Ritter off as a kook last time around but this time I am paying much closer attention to what he has to say. Whether you agree with him or not –I don’t think any of us can afford to ignore him.
